Summary:
The Governing Body of the International Labor Organization (ILO) will hold its 346th Session. The Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine will be discussed. The ILO strategy on skills and lifelong learning for 2022–30 will also be taken into consideration, as well as the follow-up to the 109th Session addressing inequalities.
Beginning on Monday, October 31, 2022, the Governing Body of the International Labor Organization (ILO) will hold its 346th Session.
Gilbert F. Houngbo, who became the new ILO Director-General on October 1, 2022, will be attending his first Governing Body meeting.
The Global Coalition for Social Justice will be mentioned in the Director-report General to the Governing Body members.
The inclusion of a safe and healthy working environment in the ILO’s framework of fundamental principles and rights at work, as well as concerns resulting from the 110th Session (2022) of the International Labour Conference, will also be on the agenda.
The ILO strategy on skills and lifelong learning for 2022–30 will also be taken into consideration, as well as the follow-up to the 109th Session of the Conference resolution addressing inequalities and the world of work (2021).
The Governing Body will also look through progress reports on Bangladesh, Guatemala, and Venezuela as part of its oversight duties. The Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine will be discussed, along with the need for any additional actions to ensure that the Government of Belarus complies with the Commission of Inquiry’s recommendations.
On November 10, the Governing Body will finish up its duties.
