SuperCoach: Why Brown won’t earn dual status — yet

On the back of our Round 6 positional updates, these fresh changes will go live in the game for Round 12. In other words, when KFC SuperCoach opens up from Round 11 lockout, the below players will be dual position. We’ve also included “watchlist” players who are on the cusp and could earn dual status over the next two rounds, depending on what position they play. Some of the calls are easy, some of them are hard.Stream every game of every round of the 2022 NRL Telstra Premiership Season Live & Ad-Break Free In Play on Kayo. New to Kayo? With plenty of footy to go before the changes become official, we’ve included a “watchlist” section for those on the cusp of dual status.* After Round 12, there is one more week of positional changes to come in Round 18.LOCKED IN CHANGES* Siosifa Talakai: Add CTW to existing 2RF position given Talakai has played six games at centre;* Reuben Garrick: Add FLB to existing CTW position as Garrick has played four games at fullback, five on wing.* Luke Brooks: Add 5/8 to existing HFB position as Brooks has played four games at five-eighth, five at halfback.* Luke Garner: Add CTW to existing 2RF position as Garner has played five games at centre, three off the bench.WATCHLISTThese players are on the verge of earning dual status but haven’t quite qualified yet. Our general rule is that a player must start in a position three times to earn that position in KFC SuperCoach. Some players below could qualify for Round 12 positional changes if they play the required position this week or next. They will also be considered for positional changes in Round 18.* Adam Elliott: Currently 2RF only. Elliott has started last two weeks at hooker and has been named there again this week.* Dylan Brown: Currently 5/8 only. Brown has played two of nine games at centre and will likely earn dual status if he plays there again this season. That appears unlikely before Round 12 given Brown has been named at five-eighth this week.* Xavier Savage: Currently FLB only. Savage has played three games this season, two on the wing and one off the bench. In that bench game he came on at fullback for Jordan Rapana. He has been named on the bench again this week so is unlikely to earn dual status before Round 12.* Leo Thompson: Currently FRF only. Has played one game at lock and been named there again this week.* David Fifita: Currently 2RF only. Fifita has played just one of eight games at centre and is therefore highly unlikely to earn dual status.PLAYERS WHO CAN’T CHANGE BECAUSE ALREADY DUAL (aka the ‘we got it wrong list’)* Kurt Mann 5/8/ CTW: Started all games at lock this year;* Jake Averillo HFB / 5/8: Played five of seven games at centre;* Phoenix Crossland 5/8 / HFB: Playing mostly as a bench hooker;* Jaemon Salmon 5/8 / CTW: Playing mostly as a forward off the bench;* Jack Bird CTW / 2RF: Played three games at five-eighth;* Drew Hutchison 5/8 / HFB: Started five games at hooker;* Hayze Perham FLB / HFB: Played three games on wing;* Reuben Cotter HOK / 2RF: Played five of seven games at prop;* Isaac Liu FRF / 2RF: Only played FRF this year, eight games;* Corey Thompson FLB / CTW: Only played wing this year, four games.KFC SuperCoach gun Ryan Papenhuyzen is out for 4-6 weeks, so this was his last contribution for a significant period. RECAP OF CHANGES FROM ROUND 6* Josh King: Add 2RF to existing FRF position. King has started all nine games at 13;* Alec MacDonald: Add FRF to existing 2RF position. Played as a middle off the bench before being dropped;* Jason Taumalolo: Add FRF to his 2RF position. Taumalolo started twice at FRF despite being named in 13 every week;* Sam Walker:Add 5/8 to existing HFB. Walker has only played 5/8 this season with he and Keary essentially swapping roles;* Fletcher Baker: Add FRF to existing 2RF. The young Rooster is playing as part of the middle rotation off the bench and even started in FRF in Round 1.
