Celtic’s decision to appoint Postecoglou, who was largely unknown in the UK despite his title-winning in success with Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan and Brisbane Roar in Australia, was widely questioned in Scotland.And after the Hoops’ slow start to the season, Postecoglou’s credentials were further scrutinised.However, the tide was to turn, with success coming in December when Celtic – who failed to lift any silverware last season – beat Hibernian 2-1 to win the Scottish League Cup final at Hampden Park.Postecoglou was hailed by the Celtic faithful and it has been a love story ever since.Celtic’s draw with Dundee United – who equalised in the 72nd minute via a long-distance strike from Dylan Levitt after Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis had given Postecoglou’s men the lead 19 minutes earlier – stretched the Hoops’ unbeaten Scottish Premiership run to 31 matches.The Hoops will celebrate their title-winning feat at Celtic Park on Saturday night (AEDT) when they host Motherwell on the final weekend of the premiership season.
