IBAC Commissioner notes public hearing ‘constraints’

Victoria’s anti-corruption Commissioner Robert Redlich has confirmed no one has asked his agency for a private hearing, in the wake of reports that Daniel Andrews gave evidence in secret.

Mr Redlich said there has “never been a witness who has asked for a private hearing as distinct from a public one”.

“The terms in which IBAC is currently constrained, in terms of public hearing, are quite exceptional,” he said.
